Future events 2017


  • Thursday 7th or Friday 8th September 2017: An invitation from the Colchester Civic Society to join their Cruise from the Hythe to Brightlingsea on the Brightlingsea Ferry for about an hour. Full details from Mrs Jo Edwards 01206 868254
  • Thursday 14th September 2017: The Roman River Music Festival begins - until 1st October. Full details from www.romanrivermusic.org.uk
  • Monday 16th October 2017: a joint guided tour with the Colchester Civic Society with a ranger to explore the newly acquired wetland habitat at Fingringhoe Wick. 6 each. For full details contact Mrs Jo Edwards 01206 868254
  • Wednesday 15th November 2017: Annual evening visit to the Theatre Royal, Norwich, for the Glyndebourne Touring Opera's production of Rossini's The Barber of Seville.   • Sunday 19th November 2017: The Friends of the Minories 41st AGM, at the Minories at 2pm, followed by an illustrated talk by Deborah Lambert, art historian and lecturer, at 3pm about Catherine the Great, Wedgwood and the Green Frog service.   • Saturday 25th November 2017: Christmas Market at the Minories with a Friends stall from 10am to 4pm
  • Saturday 17th February: A visit by coach to the Royal Academy, Piccadilly, for the exhibition Charles 1st, King and Collector. Booked entries for 12 noon and 12.30pm for two groups of 25 people. Tickets: 40 (no concessions available). For more details contact Mrs Suki Cohen 01206 262219
  • Note: With much regret we have had to postpone our visit to the Red House on the 30th of September due to unforeseen circumstances.
